Engine Note creates owner-maintained service packets and organizes owner-entered intervals. It does not monitor equipment automatically, determine safety or readiness, or replace manufacturer guidance or professional inspection.
1. Our approach
Dustline Apps (“we,” “us,” or the “developer”) limits the information handled by Engine Note (“the app”) to what its features need. Records you enter are generally stored locally on your device. No account is required.
2. Information handled by the app
- Equipment name, type, manufacturer, model, serial number, current hours, notes, and other equipment details you enter
- Service label, date, hours, parts, oil specification and quantity, cost, currency, notes, and next date or hours that you enter
- Work performed, owner-entered readings, consumables, and optional captions in a completed service packet
- Equipment and service-packet photos you take with the camera or choose from the photo library (up to four photos per packet), date-based reminders, language preference, and a local Pro-entitlement cache
- Single-packet PDFs, aggregate CSV or PDF exports, and ZIP backups you explicitly create
These records stay on your device and are not sent to a server operated by the developer.
The bundled fictional sample contains no personal information and is not saved as a record until you choose Save. Photo and PDF processing occurs on your device.
The app uses the product ID, purchase state, and localized price returned by StoreKit and may cache an entitled state on your device. It does not send or store receipt contents or complete payment details on a developer-operated server.
3. Third-party services
The app does not use an advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, or developer-operated cloud service.
The app does not collect or transmit information for advertising, analytics, or tracking.
The optional lifetime Pro purchase is processed by Apple's App Store (StoreKit). Apple processes payment information; the app and developer do not receive your complete payment details.
4. Sharing and export
Only when you start an export or share action does selected information pass through the operating system's share interface to a destination you choose. The destination's own policy governs its copy.
A single service-packet PDF can be previewed and shared on the free tier. Aggregate CSV/PDF and ZIP backup creation or restore are Pro features. Each action runs only when you initiate it, and exports do not include a purchase receipt.
5. Retention and deletion
Deleting an equipment or service record in the app also deletes its associated app-owned photos. Uninstalling the app deletes remaining local records and the cached Pro state. Delete PDFs, CSV files, ZIP files, or shared copies saved outside the app separately at their destinations. Apple's App Store retention policy applies to purchase data processed by Apple.
6. Children's privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Security
The app is designed around local storage, and third-party service connections use encryption in transit. No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when features, law, or third-party services change. Material changes will be indicated by updating the date on this page.
